15 weeks on the road now and we have covered more than 6000km with the van. After leaving Albany, we took a short drive (under an hour) to the very lovely town of Denmark. Set in the Great Southern Region of WA, Denmark is a beautifully forested area but still with that very dramatic coastline.

We are staying on the Big4 caravan park at Ocean Beach. To be honest, I am never a fan of the big caravan parks and this one is certainly big! Thankfully, only around 20% of the sites were occupied for the five nights we spent there but I am not sure I would want to be there when all 400 sites were occupied – that would be a LOT of people. We had an unpowered site at the rear of the park and it felt like bush camping but with the added bonus of a great play park, buggy’s for kids to play on, hot showers and a laundry. Heaps of kangaroos hopping around the site and lots of birds to give it that bush camp feel.

We have certainly noticed a drop in temperature over the last few weeks, with the temperature most days now hovering in the low 20’s. We were blessed with one ‘hot’ day during our time in Denmark where the temperature soared up to 27 degrees – perfect sunny day to explore Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks. Designated a marine sanctuary, Greens Pool was the perfect place to bring out the snorkels with shallow clear water and lots of cool fish to look at.

Lots of fun snorkelling and jumping off the rocks.

A trip to Denmark wouldn’t be complete without a visit to some of the local tourist attractions- animal farm for the kids …

And a winery for mum! Denmark winning on all fronts.
