Time to recharge

Heading north from Kingston SE, Victor Harbour was set to be our next destination. A Positive Covid case at our planned camp site caused a last minute change of destination and we managed to find a lovely farm just outside of Victor Harbour with a massive paddock we could have all to ourselves. Victor Harbour itself is a lot bigger than I expected and it’s clear we are getting closer to the city but still plenty of places to feel away from crowds.

After two weeks of pretty much bush camps and no power sites, we are spending two nights in Brighton, just south of Adelaide. A chance to re-charge – both ourselves and the vehicles! The campsite is a very small independent site and we scored a beachfront spot – primo! Everyone enjoyed some long hot showers (super clean facilities) and the coffee machine/ air fryer/ toastie machine all came out from their storage places! Nice boardwalk along the front and chance to enjoy some time around a town.

We had planned this stop as a chance to get a battery switched over on the car and also get the van serviced. We didn’t manage to get the battery sorted for the car (but I now know a lot about lithium batteries and specific connectors needed!) but van is serviced and we are all set to keep on our travels. Whilst waiting for the van service, we found a lovely spot for lunch in Port Noarlunga – super trendy and lovely beachside place.

Our fix of ‘city’ life complete, and all re-stocked is out supplies and we are on our way now to the much anticipated Yorke Peninsular. We have been aiming to get to the Yorke since we arrived in SA and looking forward to the next week exploring from our base in Marion Bay.
